Rob Hoskin bagged a brace as Vale of White Horse Under 15s beat Mid Oxon 4-2 in the Maurice Chalk Oxfordshire Cup semi-final at Milton United.

Mid Oxon got off to a flier when poor marking allowed Sam Burton to score after only two minutes.

But Vale were level three minutes later, with Hoskin lobbing the ball over the advancing keeper from 30 yards.

And they took the lead just before half-time, Niall Hodgkins scoring from close range.

Mid Oxon had the better of the second half with the wind behind them, but a good exchange of passes allowed Hoskin to make it 3-1.

Mid Oxon pulled a goal back with five minutes left, Kieran Sanders firing the ball home from 20 yards.

Bu a hesitant Mid Oxon defence allowed Ben Rusher to score and secure Vale a place in the final against Banbury or Oxford City.

  • Oliver Taylor grabbed the winner as Vale of White Horse Under 13s inflicted the first defeat of the season upon Luton with a 1-0 victory in the Meeson Trophy.

Despite having a depleted squad with four late withdrawals for the clash at Luton's Icknield School, Vale produced their best performance of the season.

Taylor struck after just ten minutes when he raced clear to score.

He shot narrowly wide soon afterwards, and volleyed another chance over the bar in the second half.

Josh Sissons worked tirelessly in midfield, while Jack Shipway, Tom Booker and Frankie Merola made many outstanding tackles in defence.

And when they were beaten, keeper Leigh Bedwell brought off three excellent saves.
