A 58-year-old woman has been jailed after causing the death of a pensioner by dangerous driving.
Carol Hickman, of Thorney Leys, Witney, was driving along Main Road in Curbridge at 2.35pm on September 1 last year when the crash happened.
Oxford Crown Court heard today how Hickman pulled out in her VW Golf to overtake a double decker Stagecoach bus and collided head on with a Volvo estate car being driven by 89-year-old Thomas Rose.
Mr Rose, from Carterton, died at the scene of the collision and his cousin, Kevin Rose, who was a passenger, suffered a broken rib and a bruised lung.
Mother of two Hickman spent over two weeks in hospital with a broken leg and broken arm.
Recorder Nicholas Goodwin sentenced her to eight months prison and a two year driving ban.
