HANDMADE crafts including metal bags and paper flowers helped raise money for a primary school at a craft fair.

Friends of St Thomas More Primary School, a group of parent volunteers, set up more than 40 stalls featuring crafters from across Oxfordshire selling goods.

At the sale, which has been running for more than 20 years, were metal bags with vintage decoration from Julie Farren, a crafter from Tackley.

Amateur photographer Jean Ghorat, 78, from Kidlington, sold postcards featuring her photographs of gardens and crafter Maureen Lambert from Besselsleigh sold a range of homemade toys.

Paper flowers made by Barbara Ponting from Chalgrove were also sold, and according to Mrs Ponting she can make 16 in one hour of the 80p treats.

Head of Friends of St Thomas More Primary School Rachel Evans said the money would be used for new books in the library, funds for school trips and improvements to the garden.
