A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a woman had her bag stolen.

The 30-year-old woman was walking down a cycle path along the Eastern Bypass when a man got off his bike, pushed her to the ground and grabbed her around the throat before running off with her handbag, police have said.

Thames Valley Police also said the man and woman were known to each other.

The woman suffered minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment after the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, March 11 at 7.15pm.

Thames Valley Police described the offender is 5ft 8ins, of medium build with short brown/ ginger hair.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and has been bailed until March 29.
