TRADITIONAL dancers celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi in East Oxford.
The day of celebrations at the Asian Culture Centre in Manzil Way on Saturday also marked the spring festival of Basant.
Revellers at the event hosted by the Oxford Hindu Temple and Community Centre Project took part in traditional Indian dancing and helped to raise funds for a new temple, which it is hoped will be built in the coming years.
Dancer Sanjana Marayan was one of those who got involved with the activities on offer.
The 15-year-old said: “It is a nice way of doing things in the community together.”

Holi, often known as the festival of colour, celebrates the victory of good over evil and is a day to forget past mistakes.
The Basant festival, also known as Vasant Panchami, originated in northern India and Pakistan and marks the start of spring.
As well as dancing there were face painters, a magician, Henna tattoo artists and Indian food.
