A group of walking parishioners solved a heating crisis at Holy Trinity Church at Headington Quarry, Oxford.
The money they raised from a 10-mile trek through seven parishes meant the church could pay for a new boiler, to replace the one that was leaking.
The three-hour walk raised £170 which, added to money raised from a jumble sale, dancing display and donations, achieved the church’s target of £462.
