Women through the ages was the theme of a pageant staged by 200 Women’s Institute members.
The pageant, at Kiddington Hall, near Chipping Norton, was the highlight of a festival arranged by the Oxfordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes in 1973 and was attended by more than 2,000 members, their relatives and their friends.
The 200 members were drawn from institutes in north-west Oxfordshire. The co-ordinator was Mrs JR Stranks and the narrator was Mrs LW Robson.
This is one of a series of pictures we are publishing in Memory Lane this year to mark the centenary of the WI movement.
