Section 2 leaders Rowing Machine saw their championship bid dented as they went down to a 6-3 defeat at George Bar B in the Greene King ODDA.

They started well with Jamie Burke beating Dave Witherwick, only for George to hit back and lead 3-1.

Although Machine pulled one back when Tony Buckingham beat Bob Brown, the hosts then eased into a 4-2 lead. A 2-1 pairs win saw George wrap up victory.

Section 3 leaders Cowley Workers Club made it ten wins from ten games with a 6-3 success at Red Lion A.

They got off to a good start when victories from Jason Cattermole and Bob Freemire gave them a 2-0 lead.

Lion pulled one game back through Mick O'Leary's win against Mo Oliver.

The workers then took a 3-1 lead, only for Des Slezak to narrow the gap.

But once again, Workers moved away to lead 4-2, before a 2-1 pairs victory saw Cowley Workers ease through.

Three Horseshoes are 12 points behind Workers in second place after a battling 5-4 win at Nuffield Arms C.

Trailing 4-2 after the singles, the Shoes won the pairs 3-0 to complete the turnaround.

In Section 4, George Inn Botley improved their chances of honours with a 6-3 victory over Sutton Courtney FC.

George got off to a flier as they cruised into a 4-0 lead.

Although the visitors pulled one back, George restored their lead and held on for victory despite a 2-1 pairs defeat.

Democrats Social Club are the new Section 5 leaders after a 9-0 victory over the visiting Masons Arms B.
