Two women are in hospital with potentially life threatening injuries after their cars were involved in a head-on crash on the A40 in Oxfordshire last night.
The incident, involving a 22-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman, happened on the A40 westbound between the Eynsham roundabout and the Ducklington A415 junction, at around 11.30pm.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the crash with an appliance from Witney and one from Eynsham as well as the rescue render from Kidlington.
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the women from their vehicles and they were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital by Oxfordshire Ambulance Service.

One appliance from The Slade attended the incident at 10.25pm.
Officers used breathing apparatus and two hose reels to put the fire out.
Incident commander watch manager Waters was in attendance.
