A FLOOD alert is no longer in place for areas along the course of the River Evenlode from Moreton-in-Marsh to Cassington.
The Environment Agency said yesterday that low-lying areas near Kingham, Milton-under-Wychwood, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Charlbury, Fawler and Long Hanborough and also along the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock could be affected by flooding.
The agency said water levels on the river rose quickly after overnight rain between Thursday and yesterday and were expected to continue to rise last night.
