It seems that the second badger cull in Gloucestershire and Somerset, like the first one, has failed to meet the targets set. This means that it is more likely to have led to the ‘perturbation effect’, where stressed badgers disperse and flee the cull zone.

A recent poll, like previous ones, confirms that the majority of the public are opposed to culling and would prefer to see the vaccination programme already taking place in Oxfordshire rolled out across the country. If you feel that the Government’s strategy needs to change and that the badger cull is inhumane, unscientific and ineffective, please join the march against Cameron’s cull being organised by the Badger Trust on October 25 at 1pm. Meet at the Radcliffe Camera, Radcliffe Square.
