Sir – I have been a volunteer at Cogges Manor Farm, in Witney, for the past three years. One of my duties is to feed the three farm cats.

Over the past year we have had four stray cats take up temporary residence on the farm. Two black and white cats, and two tabbys. The two tabbys, we have manage d to find new homes for. One with someone who is part of the film crew of an ITV period drama filmed locally.

One of the black and white cats was unfortunately found to be really poorly. But the other black and white cat, when we were finally able to get hold of him and take him to the vets, was found to be micro-chipped.

When the owners were contacted by Cogges vets, they said that the cat, called Morgan, had gone missing ten years ago. He’s now been reunited with his family.

We only know that he's been hanging around Cogges for the past year. We’ll never know where he’s been for the missing nine years. But what a lovely, happy ending.
