The number of cancelled hospital operations rose over the first three months of the year, new figures show.
Some 188 operations were cancelled by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust from January to March at the “last minute” for “non-clinical reasons”.
The trust runs Oxford’s John Radcliffe, Nuffield Orthopaedic and Churchill hospitals and Banbury’s Horton Hospital.
Last year, there were 163 cancellations from April to June, 157 from July to September and 178 from September to December. Figures were not provided by for January to March 2013.
