BLACKBIRD Leys community centre scored a home victory when one of its members was voted Oxford Community Girl 1964.
Ann Bradford, 16, was given the highest number of points in the contest, which was held before a packed audience at the centre. She is pictured above with other contestants in the final.
The judges included Oxford Cheetahs’ speedway rider Arne Pander and Percy Lewis, former British Empire featherweight boxing champion.
There was a tie for second place between Susan Sanders, 16, of Northway community centre, and Diana Cox, 17, of the Florence Park centre.
