Oxford’s Sir Roger Bannister is a hero in every sense of the word, embracing all that title demands. And now, 60 years after Sir Roger first broke the four-minute mile barrier, he continues to act and live as someone determined to live his life with dignity, bravely revealing for the first time that he has Parkinson’s Disease.
Sir Roger is that rare thing – a genuine hero and gentleman who has represented – and continues to represent – this county and our country with courage, style and effortless dignity.
You have our very best wishes.
