THE month of March is ovarian cancer awareness month. I wondered if I might plead with all women who have any of the following symptoms to see their GP immediately.

* If you have increased abdominal size and bloating that does not go away.

* Pelvic or abdominal pain that does not go away (that is your tummy and below).

* Tiredness and greatly increased heartburn/indigestion.

I have a range of booklets and books I am willing to lend out to interested parties. There are symptom leaflets available too.

There are wrist bands, badges and ribbons available for a suggested minimum contribution of £1 eachAll these are available from me, via Target Ovarian Cancer, 30 Angel Gate, London, EC1V 2PT. A registered charity no: 1125038, tel: 020 7923 5470 or email: info@targetovarian.org.uk. and OVACOME the ovarian cancer support charity at: Suite B5 City Cloisters, 196 Old Street, London EC1V 9FR. Reg. charity no: 1058026, tel: 020 7299 6654 or email: ovacome@ovacome.ord.uk.

Any donations would be greatly received for either of these organisations .

I was diagnosed at Easter 2010. I am currently having my third chemotherapy course and have five more treatments to go (out of six), on a four-weekly basis. Hospital appointments are many during this time but the staff at the Churchill Hospital, where I am treated, are amazing at making you feel very important, both as a person and someone going through a difficult and sometimes painful process as a patient.
