THE anniversary of the sailing from Liverpool docks of HMT Empire Clyde on February 17, 1954, bound for the West Indies, taking the 1st Battalion The Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry to Bermuda, Belize and Jamaica, dropping off first A Coy at Bermuda, then E Coy at Belize and the Battalion headquarters and supporting companies to Jamaica is coming up.
Later a company was posted in British Guyana. A Coy Bermuda have a website and our editor now lives in Australia, Derek Lovemore.
