THE threat of a referendum on Europe will satisfy nobody (February 1).

If the vote is ‘get out’ we will all be the poorer. If it is ‘stay-in’, the Little Englanders will demand another vote.

David Cameron wants to make Britons second-class citizens by scrapping many of our employment, environment and human rights laws.

The European Union (EU) has given Britain 40 years of peace, prosperity and partnership. By threatening a referendum, the MP for Witney is frightening away jobs.

He hopes the in-out threat will keep his divided party together. But the UKIP extremists show that tactic is doomed to failure.

Labour has the only sensible policy on Europe. Fighting for the best for British people but a commitment to stay inside the European market.

It would be daft to throw away Oxford’s car factory, an increasingly English-speaking Europe and a powerful influence through the EU on the rest of world.
