The family of a man killed in a car crash near Witney have spoken of their grief.o Paulo Dos Santoscorr, of Banbury, died when the van he was driving and a double-decker bus collided on the A415 outside Cokethorpe School, near Ducklington, a week ago.

Mr Dos Santos, 39, was married with a six-month-old baby son. The family said: "Paulo leaves behind a devastated family and circle of friends. He was a loyal husband to Ali and a devoted father to six-month-old Tiago.

"He was the son of Manuel and Maria, brother to Antonio and a fun-loving dear friend whose absence is unimaginable and unbearable for us all. He was full of Tigger' beans and he brought bounce to Ali's life."

Mr Dos Santos, who was Portuguese, moved to England when he was four years old and came to Oxfordshire from London two-and-a-half years ago.

His family said: "During this time he became a keen and much improved golfer and developed a large circle of close friends, which is indicative of his warm and engaging personality. He loved to cook and enjoyed DIY.

"Despite living in England for most of his life, Paulo had solid Portuguese roots, especially when it came to football, notably the Euro 2004 England v Portugal game.

"He was, however, an avid Liverpool supporter, so we forgave him his homeland loyalties. His strong sense of pride, loyalty and devotion to the people he loved, during good times and bad, can only make us proud to have known him for as long as we did, and despite the untimely nature of his death, we are grateful that he touched our lives."

Mr Dos Santos's death was one of eight on Oxfordshire's roads in five days last week. The collision in which Mr Dos Santos died happened at a notorious accident blackspot which has claimed six lives in less than three years. The incident happened at about 1pm.
