IF you’re already missing the joys of Christmas, today is another chance for you to feel festive. It is the last day that more than 40 Christmas trees will be on display in St James Church, Cowley, Oxford. The Cowley Festival of Trees has helped to raise £500 for the good causes SeeSaw and ROSY. Visitors to the Beauchamp Lane church have been asked to donate money throughout the festive period.
Lesley Williams, festival co-ordinator, said it had been a huge success.
She said: “We started doing this two years ago and this was the first year we have put it on for so long. Previously it was just over a weekend but we took the decision this year to keep it running for longer.
“We had 42 trees submitted and it is lovely to see. There have been family fun events and the carol service which have helped raise money.
“They are such good local causes.”
The trees will still be on display until today. It’s £2 for adults and under-16s go free.
