“URGENT” investment in the A34 has been called for in Parliament by an Oxford MP.
Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood put the question of improvements to the road through the county to Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander in the House of Commons this morning.
She asked: “Does he agree with me that investing in strategic roads like the A34 in my constituency can be key to unlocking vital growth and inward investment in priority sectors and will he investigate the economic case for urgent investment in the A34?"
Mr Alexander said he agreed and that was why the Government had invested in a project to improve links with the A34 and the M4 and work will start in March.
He replied to Miss Blackwood: “I am sure she will agree will make a considerable difference to the economy in her part of the country.”
