MORE than 100 people took part in a village run to raise money for new play equipment.

It is the fifth year the Ascott-under-Wychwood Village Charity has organised the event, which had both a 10k and a 5k run, to fundraise for local causes.

Yesterday, 111 people joined in.

About £1,000 was raised and will go towards new play equipment and the multi-use games area.

Mark Tyrell won the 10k race, with Simon Pritchard second and Brian O’Connor third.

The charity is already planning next year’s event which will again take place on the last Sunday of October.
