THESE girls were getting ready for their biggest baton twirl of the year.
Members of the Blue Eagle Majorettes at Chipping Norton were heading for Torbay in Devon in 1986 to take part for the first time in the National Baton Twirling Association finals.
Kathleen Burrage, chairman and director of the group, said: “We are only two years old and are just trying to prove ourselves.”
It was due to be a busy year for the young twirlers. Apart from their week-long visit to Torbay, they were also booked to perform at a number of events in West Oxfordshire.
