A tiny art gallery has become the focus of the world's media after it exhibited previously unseen photographs of Marilyn Monroe, left.

The Meller Gallery, in Church Green, Witney, has been swamped with requests for the pictures, inundated with calls from the press in Russia, India, Switzerland and Italy, and even featured in the New York Post.

Gallery manager Lisa Bryan said: "We can't believe it. The gallery has only been open since August. But suddenly, because of Marilyn, everyone knows where we are.

"We have never had a range of pictures create so much interest or sell so fast. But then these pictures are really special because they show the 'real' Marilyn."

The exhibition includes eight photographs of the world's most enduring sex symbol by world-renowned photographer Eve Arnold.

Just 495 copies of each photograph have been printed and they are only available in the UK.

The photographs were launched at the gallery last week (7th Dec).

The unseen eight include images of Marilyn relaxing at home, on a plane, in bed and on the set of The Misfits in 1960. In one she is reflected in a mirror learning her lines.

The photographs cost £295 each.
