Sir - Oxford Pedestrians Association welcomes the news that the Cornmarket/George Street traffic lights may be removed. Contrary to your report (December 8) OxPA did not request these lights, which have not improved conditions at this junction for pedestrians, cyclists or bus users. We expressed our objections to the Highway Authority and were told that regular monitoring would be carried out. After nearly three years, this is better late than never!
