Phil Adams hit a superb 16 dolls and Kevin Baker returned a 15-doll haul - but it couldn't save Cricketers from a 4-2 defeat by the Ox in the Gladiator Beer Seller Friday League.
Consistent scoring from the Ox proved enough to foil the efforts of Adams (4, 6, 6) and Baker (5, 5, 5).
The Ox came out on top 19-16, 17-24, 23-21, Clive Proudfoot spearheading their challenge with 12 dolls.
Oxford & District League secretary Kevin Alder hit his first six for many a year in a 13-doll haul to help Pips to a 4-2 win over Gladiators.
Clive Wright signed off with a six in his 15 dolls to help New Club B to a 6-0 victory over Red Lion in the John Smith's Winter League at New Club Wheatley.
Mick Berry starred with 14 dolls as Punch Bowl beat Gin'll Fix It 4-2 in the Kidlington Indoor League.
Thirteen-doll hauls for Martin Herbet and Keith Powell proved in vain for Star, who paid the price for being a man short as they went down 4-2 to Exiles in the Yarnton RBL League.
