A NEW play at the Pegasus Theatre takes audiences through the imagination of a seven-year-old boy.

Tom Wilson who plays lead character Zachary in The Grumpiest Boy in the World at the theatre in Magdalen Road, Oxford, is no child though, but a 26-year-old man.

He said: “It’s quite strange playing a child but I just took it back to being that age but it was still quite different.

“The audience obviously will have to use their imagination a lot too. I tried not to be too hammy but to draw on parts of me.”

Zachary is fed up with being a normal boy and goes into his imagination to turn himself into the least normal person he can be.

Performances of the play take place tonight and tomorrow at 6pm, with two shows at 11am and 3pm on Sunday.
