RESIDENTS have been getting their paintbrushes out again to support the ongoing ‘Faces and Places of Cowley’ project, which will see more than 100 paintings hung up in Templars Square Shopping Centre.

Up to 10 people joined in creating familiar scenes and faces of Cowley at the Ark T Centre in Crowell Road for additional sessions.

The project is being funded by the shopping centre to brighten up the inside of the building and to bring the community together.

Community artist Su Frizzell, 12, is leading the project. She said: “We’ve had loads of fun so far and people are going to be blown away by the artwork on display.

“I’d love to see more people come to the next session – we’ve still got lots of boards.”

The next sessions are on Friday, October 4, between 10am and noon, 3.30pm and 5.30pm, and 7pm and 9pm.

A live workshop will conclude the project at Templars Square Shopping Centre the following day, from 1pm until 3pm, with the official launch on Saturday, October 12.
