TV presenter and Oxford United fan Timmy Mallett is pedalling 70 miles to watch the team, as part of a cycling challenge.
The presenter of children’s programme Wide Awake Club will set off for the personal challenge with his 21-year-old son Billy from Darlington to Hartlepool today.
The pair aim to pedal up to Oxford United’s furthest away match against Hartlepool United for the 3pm kick-off.
Mr Mallett said: “I have been a passionate supporter of Oxford United for years since I worked in Oxford.
“I saw how important the football club was to the city.”
Mr Mallett worked at BBC Oxford in the 80s and now lives in Berkshire.
