GREEN flags honour parks and blue flags recognise beaches but the purple flag, which Oxford celebrates this week, is for safe and vibrant nightlife.
The flag was awarded to the city in 2010 by the Association of Town Centre Management.
Oxford Castle Quarter has organised this year’s week which runs to Sunday. Events start at 7.30pm.
