Sir – Ramadan ended on August 19 and will not start again until June 28 next year. Yet for reasons which escape me and most local residents, the celebratory stars and crescent moons still hang in Cowley Road and presumably will do so until well into January, as in previous years.
What is extraordinary is that the city council pays for this out of public money.
Surely humanists and others should object strongly to the paraphernalia of one religious group being funded by all taxpayers.
Even at Christmas we get bicycles over the High Street, not angels.
