Sir – If Christopher Gray thinks that Mark Thompson shouldn’t claim back legitimate expenses incurred in the course of his BBC employment (Gray Matter, September 12), then, perhaps, he can tell us whether he, or The Oxford Times, is paying the bill for dinner at The Fishes every time he decides to review his favourite restaurant?
