APPLETON: Police attended Field Farm yesterday off the A420 – the base of meat firm Field Farm Fresh – following the issue of a civil repossession order.
A locksmith, security vans with dogs, and staff operating a JCB digger also attended.
A Thames Valley police spokesman said: “This was a civil repossession order. Our neighbourhood team was patrolling to reassure the local community.
“Firearms were removed on Thursday and were surrendered voluntarily. It’s a civil matter and police will not be taking any action on behalf of the administrators. The police were there for reassurance and liaison.”
Field Farm in Netherton Road was owned by the Morgan family which had been farming in the village for 25 years.
