How many thousands of people pass Abingdon every day on the A34 knowing only that we have a barracks, a superstore and lots of trading estates?
Not one sign as to our heritage, our historic buildings or the wonderful riverside areas. How about signage to this effect, complemented by signs in the town for visitors to follow? Other towns (e.g. Newton-le-Willows) have done this to great effect, so why not Abingdon?
