STEPS to improve services for tenants in the city could be taken after housing bosses joined forces with a charity. Oxford City Council has teamed up with Oxfordshire Unlimited to understand how it can improve services for tenants with physical and sensory difficulties.
Board member for housing Scott Seamons said: “Working together, the two groups are ensuring that tenants with physical and sensory difficulties are able to share how their difficulties affect their use of council services.
“We are grateful for the work they have done and we hope they will continue to help us provide world-class standards for a world class city.”
Oxfordshire Unlimited deputy chairman Lilian Sherwood said: “Three of our committee met Oxford City Council to discuss how our members could contribute to tenant involvement.
“Our members have a valuable experience of disability access, opportunities and discrimination that they wish to share.”
Marie Dawson, an Oxford Unlimited member, added: “I feel there is a great opportunity to help our members and to share their knowledge of access across the city.”
