THREE NEW dance classes with an African, Latino and Brazilian twist have began in Cowley.
French-born Mamé Yansane will teach a parent and toddler class, an over 50s session, and a special needs class at East Oxford Community Centre, and at the Ark T Centre in Cowley.
Ms Yansane, 31, who lives in Iffley Road, said: “The classes are creative and not about just following the teacher, but about people improvising and coming up with their own dance and their own way to move.
“But I will provide them with ideas which they can use.
“The classes are contemporary mainstream, with a mix of African, Latino and Afro-Brazilian. “For the special needs group I use a lot of props and images.”
The first special needs session was on Thursday.
