AN OXFORD school has opened a revamped sports pavilion after a £10,000 renovation.

New College School’s Fuller Pavilion – named after former head boy Simon Fuller, who died in 1983 aged 13 with his family in a helicopter crash – was completely revamped over the summer.

Retired Arsenal and England footballer Martin Keown, who lives in North Oxford, opened the structure, pictured, on Friday.

Headteacher Robert Gullifer said: “It looks stunning. There is a new deck, balustrading and new storage area.”

The money was raised by the Parents’ Association, which raised cash for the original pavilion in 1983.

Sports director Craig Bishop said: “It’s fantastic. The boys have somewhere pleasant to get changed and it makes them feel more positive.”
