TWO youths have been arrested after ten graves were covered in offensive graffiti at Tower Hill cemetery, Witney.
The headstones were sprayed with gold spray paint at the cemetery on November 14.
Police said two youths have been questioned and released on bail to re-appear in six weeks' time.
Following the attack, Witney Town Council informed the relatives affected before arranging for a thorough clean-up of the area.
Chrissie Curry, Mayor of Witney, said: "Personally I would like anyone found guilty of this to spend some time tending our cemeteries to appreciate exactly what a cemetery means to families.
"I would also like to see them make full recompense for the cost of cleaning the headstones, which it goes without saying has been underwritten by Witney Town Council. They should also be made to face the families whose graves were desecrated and explain their actions to them."
