Sniffer dogs found no drugs on pub-goers in Witney town centre on Friday night.

Specially trained dogs were taken around pubs in a joint bid to crack down on illegal drugs by the district council and police.

A number of premises were visited and the dogs searched the queues of people waiting outside to enter venues.

Sgt Phil Hampton, who oversaw the operation, said: "No drugs were found and no arrests were made which is great news.

"The searches went extremely well and were positively received from the licensed premises involved who are pleased to see us tackling this important issue."
