Five-thousand people came out to enjoy a free day of play at Burwell Meadow, Witney, in celebration of it gaining Field in Trust Status. Witney Town Council hosted the afternoon of activities on Friday, August 30, to mark the status given to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.
Burwell Meadow is the first park in Oxfordshire to be granted the honour for the Queen Elizabeth II Fields scheme.
The day included face painting, a water slide, go-karting, kite-flying and many families enjoyed a picnic on the field.
