ABINGDON: Improvements to the custody suite in Abingdon will take place as it prepares to hold prisoners arrested in Oxford when the cells at St Aldate’s police station are closed.
A tender exercise is currently being carried out before building work commences.
The work at Abingdon police station will take place before the St Aldate’s cells close in October.
Police believe that closing the custody cells at Oxford’s main police station will save £2.5m.
