I AM writing to convey my concern over the events in Egypt, and the fact that last week the Muslim Brotherhood destroyed over 57 Christian churches and businesses and killed many Christians, simply because they were Christians.
I accept that our influence in this region of the world is not as influential as it once was, but surely it would be folly to suspend aid to Egypt as this would, in my opinion, play into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood (from whom Al-Qaeda and Hamas have very clear links).
They are not our friends. Indeed their end game is Muslim caliphate and Sharia law across the whole of the Middle East and globally.
Perhaps it should not be forgotten that more than 30 million Egyptians took to the streets to protest at the terrible policies of Morsi, and if we do not stand up for those who have no voice in Egypt, who are being persecuted for their faith (and suspend aid as well) then the West will reap a very bitter harvest in the years to come.
