A LOCK, a ruined mill, three churches, five pubs and a pick-your-own farm are among the images included on a special poster about West Oxford.
More than 80 pictures of landmarks, taken by 17 local photographers aged between seven and 77, were used by artist Stephen Wride to make the piece. It was commissioned by West Oxford Community Association, and will be officially launched at the West Oxford Community Centre, in Botley Road, today at 3.30pm.
Centre chairman Lois Muddiman said: "The West Oxford poster captures the spirit of the place and the things, both great and small, which make this area special."
Mr Wride said: "I'm sure everyone who buys or receives a poster will get as much pleasure from looking at the photographs and spotting the familiar and the more unusual places in West Oxford, as I did putting the images together and designing the poster."
Resident Rebecca Huxley said: "The poster has inspired me to look again at where I live with fresh eyes."
The poster costs £3, £1 of which will go towards paying for installing solar panels at the centre. For details of how to buy copies of the poster, call 01865 246060 or 01865 246824.
