THE tackle tube – a circular foam device designed to simulate a rugby tackle – stood no chance against five-year-old Kieran Ellis.
The All Saints Primary School pupil tested his tackling skills at Oxfordshire Play Association’s armed forces charity activity day in Edmonds Park, Didcot, on Thursday.
Kieran, his two-year-old sister Chloe, mum Kate Ellis and dad Charlie Ellis, from Ladygrove, were among the families enjoying the sports on offer.
Taster sessions included rugby, tennis, basketball, football, and paintballing.
Kieran said: “You have to run up and tackle it, the big circle one.”
His mum Kate added: “The kids loved it.”
The next play event will be on Wednesday at Oxford Road Playing Field in Eynsham from 11am until 3pm.
