FIVE homes in Oxford have been raided by police this morning in a series of dawn raids.

And a total of eight arrests have been made in the city as officers executed several warrants under the Misuse of Drugs act. 

Shortly after 7am officers smashed through the ground floor window of the Laburnum Crescent house to search it for evidence.

Just before 9am one man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and handcuffed before being led away by officers. 

Thames Valley Police has issued 17 warrants across the region and 14 people have been arrested with approximately £35,000 seized that is suspected to have been made from crime has been recovered.

The warrants were carried out at the following addresses and the below arrests made:

  • Cranley Road, Oxford - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a man and a woman were arrested under suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs. A bag of suspected cannabis and what is believed to be 16 deals of class A drugs were recovered.
  • Waynflete Road, Oxford - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 59-year-old woman and another man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and money laundering. Officers seized class A drugs and approximately £7,000.
  • Wentworth Road, Oxford - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 56-year-old man and a further man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B. A small hydroponic set up was discovered along with class B drugs and cash.
  • Laburnum Crescent, Kidlington - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.
  • John Snow Place, Headington - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.
  • New Road, High Wycombe - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Approximately 50 wraps of what is believed to be class A drugs, approximately £5,000, and a bag of white powder, believed to further drugs or a cutting agent, were recovered. 
  • Eastern Street, Aylesbury – warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs. Nothing was recovered and no-one was arrested. 
  • Bernard Crescent, Aylesbury - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act. What is believed to be class A drugs were recovered from the property. No-one was arrested. 
  • Copperkins Lane, Amersham – warrant carried out under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and a 40-year-old man arrested under the proceeds of crime act. Approximately £1,500 and a stolen vehicle were recovered. 
  • Mascot Lane, Langley Park, Iver - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a man was given a caution for possession of a class B drug. 
  • Merton Road, Slough - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act. Nothing was seized and no-one was arrested. 
  • Datchet Road, Slough - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs. 
  • Forfar Drive, Bletchley - warrant carried out under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Nothing was seized and no-one was arrested. 
  • Billingbear, Wokingham – Two warrants carried out at separate addresses on a caravan site under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and a 41-year-old man and a 62-year old woman were arrested on suspicion of money laundering. Approximately £20,000 was seized. 
  • Bronte Rise, Greenham, Newbury - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act and a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of theft. Credit cards which are believed to be stolen were recovered. 
  • Kersey Crescent, Speen - warrant carried out under the Misuse of Drugs act. Nothing was seized and no-one was arrested.
