First reactions are positive to Oxford's new "hamburger" roundabout at Green Road, Headington.
Motorists, businesses and bus companies today gave a thumbs-up to the new system, despite all the time, traffic jams and £2.6m spent on the project.
The roundabout now features a road cutting through its centre, giving it the hamburger appearance, taking westbound traffic on the A40.
Keith Slater, former Oxfordshire Chamber of Commerce president, said: "It will take a while for people to get used to it, but evidence so far is that traffic flowed very well and smoothly."
Stageoach bus company spokesman Chris Child said: "There have been no problems whatsoever. Everything is running to time and the drivers think it is brilliant."
However, the cost in lost time over the past seven months of work has been estimated at about £22m through delays for business.
