BROWNIES decided to do something special for other people to celebrate their diamond jubilee.
So they presented four pictures to Wantage Hospital in 1974 to brighten up the hospital’s new day room.
Members of the 2nd Grove pack are seen with the pictures, below, at the bedside of patient June Kirky.
They made and sold cakes to raise the £8 needed to buy the pictures, which were handed over by the pack’s four sixers – Anne Marie Jenkins, Tania Simms, Karen Collins and Louise Roberts.
In the background are the pack leaders and Sister Masie Lovell, in charge of the hospital.
