A MAN who threatened to cut his victim’s throat and put him in hospital has been handed a suspended sentence.
William Lee, known as Billy Lee, of White Horse, Uffington, was convicted at Oxford Magistrates’ Court of a public order offence and was sentenced on Monday.
The 35-year-old received a six-months prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months, for threatening a 34-year-old man with violence and demanding money on a number of occasions in Childrey, Wantage.
His crimes started in August last year and on February 27 this year Lee followed his victim and made allegations that he owed him £1,000.
The court heard that Lee said if he was not paid by the end of the day he would put the man in hospital by cutting his throat and burning his house down.
He was banned from approaching his victim for two years and was also ordered to pay him £200 compensation, as well as £575 costs.
