HUNDREDS of families enjoyed go-karting, crafts and circus skills in the blazing heat at Oxford’s city play day.
The free activities, organised by Oxfordshire Play Association, were at Rose Hill recreation ground in Ashhurst Way on Saturday.
Melanie Kingham, 38, from Little Milton, led a natural art workshop.
She said: “I had a really good time.
“It got busier from 11am. People came and they had a great time and all the stalls were busy.”
The city play day was supported by £750 from Oxford City Council, £1,275 from Oxfordshire County Council and £750 from the Community First Fund, which uses Government money to help community projects.
Last year, the city play day was held in Blackbird Leys with 1,500 people attending.
The next play day is on Wednesday, July 24 at People’s Park in Banbury, from 11am-3pm.
