I’M sorry if I misinterpreted Mary Clarkson’s views on commuters but she must feel that no matter where houses are built, a percentage will be taken up by London commuters.

The point I was trying to make is that London commuters are blighting an area from the South Midlands to the South Coast and, no matter where you build, some of the properties will be taken up by people working in London.

Another cause for concern is that the park and ride at Thornhill, pictured, is used as a parking lot for bus travellers out of Oxford.

This defeats the purpose of the park and ride which was intended as an out-of-town park for people going into Oxford and, in addition, it also means that it would be pointless for a JR bus to pick up from there.

Perhaps it should be made illegal for London buses to drop off and pick up at this point.

If the Government concentrated on sorting out the London housing problem, instead of demanding more houses be built in the home counties, it would provide some relief for local councils.
